About the Recharge Programme at Oxford Royal Academy
Oxford Royal Academy’s (ORA) Recharge programme combines a healthy recognition of the need for rest with a stimulating programme of academic support and instruction. School holidays provide a fantastic opportunity to acquire new skills and interests which will contribute positively to term-time studies, whether by exploring new learning styles, honing revision techniques, or providing the opportunity to pursue extra-curricular interests.
Yarnton Manor
Yarnton Manor, a Jacobean manor house, with its roaring fires, wood-panelled study rooms, traditional dining rooms and sprawling gardens, provides the perfect environment for both rest and further learning. Students will have access to modern, fully-equipped social areas, sports facilities and movie rooms and their own comfortable single or twin room with space for private study.
Study Mentors
Students will be allocated an individual study mentor who they will meet regularly, agree specific aims for their programme, devise a study plan and monitor progress throughout the week. This will include assistance with time management, the provision of study skills workshops, and supervised study sessions in which academic work can be completed with assistance where necessary.
Academic Content
Students will choose a study option to focus on during their time at ORA of either:
UK University Preparation - UCAS application advice, mock interviews, personal statement review and more.
OR
English Language Improvers course - for those looking to improve their academic English.
If students have a specific subject that they would like to improve, private tuition can be arranged at an additional cost.
